Frequently asked questions
As a patient of Destinations Direct Primary Care will I still need health insurance?
Yes! We recommend our patients enroll in a high deductible health insurance plan, medical health insurance plan and/or health savings account to ensure financial help should hospitalization or referral to a specialist be necessary.
What happens if I need to go to the hospital or see a specialist?
Although we strive to prevent hospitalizations and specialty referrals, they are occasionally necessary. If you have to be admitted you will go to the emergency department of your hospital of choice. You will likely be admitted to the hospitalist service. Although we won’t follow you while you are in the hospital, we will obtain your medical records when discharged and follow up on your hospital doctor’s recommendation and treatment plan.
Will I still benefit from Destinations Direct Primary Care if I don’t require frequent medical attention?
Yes! We are devoted to maintaining your good health and the prevention of chronic disease. As we get to know you, we’ll gain a comprehensive knowledge of your health that will prove invaluable should you, at any point, require more frequent medical care.
Is my membership to Destinations Direct Primary Care tax deductible?
Please consult with your CPA.
Can I contact my physician after hours? And how?
Yes, anytime you like! However, please call 911 for medical emergencies.
What if I need medical attention while I’m away from home?
You can always call Dr. Neely or use our telemedicine service. We’ll locate the nearest pharmacy and call in whatever may be most appropriate for your circumstances.
Are my medical records ever shared with insurance carriers or pharmaceutical companies?
We maintain scrupulous standards of privacy. We never provide any third party with a copy of your records, unless you specifically request this.
How will I know if Dr. Neely is the right doctor for me?
Please schedule a free call or visit to discuss your healthcare needs with Dr. Neely. This is the best way to determine if we are a good fit for you and your family.
Does my monthly fee apply to my insurance deductible or can it be made tax deductible?
Your monthly fee does not count toward your medical insurance deductible. Some patients have Health Savings Accounts or Flexible Spending Accounts which may allow for your monthly fees to be paid with pre-tax dollars. You should check with your specific plan for details.
Do you make house calls?
We do make a limited number of house calls for those who are acutely ill and circumstances dictate they cannot come into the office. We do not care for totally home bound or nursing home patients. House calls will incur an additional $100 fee per visit.
